Clearly, there is no scarcity of such people who live in critical conditions and thus need such organs as lungs, kidney, heart or liver, which have either stopped functioning properly because of some disease or perhaps have remained congenitally malformed in their bodies. It is a noble cause and everyone should step forward and be a part of this positive change. I am pleasantly surprised to see such a huge gathering of people today and also overwhelmed to receive humongous support of everyone present here to make this program a success by spreading greater awareness amongst the masses and making them aware of their social responsibility.Ladies and Gentleman, organ donation, as we all know, is the process of donating an organ by an individual to someone who critically needs it.Organ donation is indeed one of the humane acts, but not many people know about it and in addition there are various taboos associated with it.People who are uneducated or partly educated may not consider it wise to donate their organs. Not only organs, but tissues as well can be donated.Lungs, kidneys, small bowel, heart, liver and pancreas are important organs which are donated for the purpose of transplantation. But the fact of the mater remains the same that the availability of organ entirely depends on the generosity of the donor and his/her family.Certainly, every person who is compassionate and can empathize with someone else’s pain would grab the opportunity to donate his/her parts after death and give the gift of life to those who need organs the most.Likewise, the tissues of bone, skin, cornea, cartilage, tendons and heart valves can also be put for donation. Moreover, it is entirely the call of the donor whether he/she wishes to donate the entire body or some specific parts of his/her body to the patient.
